there’s been a lot of talk about ‘the coldest winter in 67 years’ which I’m kind of really hoping doesn’t materialise, so in the meantime I’m really enjoying autumn. My walk home from college is kind of long but it crosses the river, and even though it’s nearly November, people are still punting! I might give it a bash: without all those leafy trees it must be completely different! And slightly less treacherous…
It’s not like I really need one, but this recipe column sure is a good excuse to take every opportunity to be in the kitchen. Autumn can be kind of gloomy, but after a somewhat empty and lonely summer I was definitely ready to jump straight back into all the things I love about this season. Warm and hearty, homemade soups are just one! This leek and potato soup will feature in the Oxford Student, next week.
Seriously excited about my first-ever recipe column, ‘Rosie’s Recipes’ for the paper ‘The Oxford Student’! My debut was this chocolate and ginger fridge cake, perfect for making Freshers’ week friends, especially if you are unfortunate enough to have neither a proper kitchen nor an oven… (me, last year.) It was such fun experimenting!
